Pressman iPieces Air Hockey and Fishing Game Review

With 77% of children whose families own tablets using it for downloaded games (according to a Nielsen survey), I am not surprised that games are becoming more interactive.  Pressman is a company that has jumped on the “board games meets iPad” train and they are perfect for families to take their iPads to the next level.  You just buy one of their five iPieces sets, Download the free app, Add friends and family and Let the games begin!

The multi-player classic games include:

  • Air Hockey
  • Fishing Game
  • Snakes & Ladders
  • Game of Goose
  • Pool (Billiards)

I got the chance to check out two of the new iPieces sets:  Air Hockey and Fishing Game.  Setting the game up is so simple and we were ready in minutes.  The apps are downloaded from the iTunes store for free and the games inlcude just a few plastic pieces.

The Air Hockey set includes only two little paddles.  The game is basic Air Hockey on the screen but then you and your opponent use your paddles to swat the puck away.  It was actually pretty cool and my boys (4 and 5) thought it was hysterical!  There are a few options you can select but basically the game is classic Air Hockey we all love.  My husband and I kept saying one more game, yes we are hooked too.  The only thing is keeping the pieces together as they are small and easy to loose if your not careful.  I keep them right back in the plastic box they came in but a ziploc bag would work too.  The pieces are cushioned on the bottom too so we didn’t have any problems with it scratching our screen, we do have a screen protector on so I’m not sure if that makes a difference.

Fishing Game reminds me of the motorized plastic fishing game where you have the little fishing hooks and you have to magnetically hook the fish from the moving pond.  This game comes with four little fishing poles.  Each player just needs to hook fish and drag it back to their bucket, but watch out for a stealing stork!  The game is pretty simple once you get the hang of dragging the poles.  My boys (4 and 5) had fun and liked that they could fish inside!  It does get boring though after awhile, but is a fun game to break out every now and then to relieve stress or just play with your family!  I didn’t have any problems with this game either as far as scratching our screen, but we do have a screen protector if that makes a difference.

Overall, we enjoy our new iPieces sets.  They are an affordable, fun and are a fun way for both my boys to play on the iPad at the same time!
