Your Santa Story {Personalized DVD} Review

Christmas is probably my favorite holiday because of the magic and the spirt of the holiday. For me it is hard not to be happy during Christmastime, even though I admit it is also stressful. I love buying presents, watching the snowflakes, eating holiday meals, and spending time off with my family. The one thing that really brings it all together though is Santa Claus, especially since I have young kids at home still.

Now that my oldest is in Kindergarten in a big elementary school, I worry that others will crush the whole Santa Claus thing for him. I want the magic of Santa to live on as long as it can with my children and I know its only a manner of time before he stops believing and then of course tells his younger siblings.

Your Santa Story is a personalized DVD featuring an authentic Santa, complete with red suite, white beard and reindeer, talking about the unique details of your family through customized scripts that you upload on the website at http://yoursantastorycom. Santa talks to each child in the family by name, telling stories like:

  • School and sports accomplishments, awards and good grades
  • Getting along with siblings
  • A good job doing chores
  • Milestones and celebrations throughout the year

Santa can even talk about the family pets, how he loved the cookies and carrots left out for him and his reindeer, and how he came down the chimney or through the front door. One of the favorite parts of Santa’s message can be the location of one last present, hidden in the house with the location disclosed by Santa.

The DVD “Your Santa Story” is a quick DVD that is a message from Santa after he arrives back at the North Pole.  He starts saying “Hello Kachelmuss Family” (our last name) and he actually says our last name right!  He then goes into saying a personal message to each of my children that I picked.  Its not a generic message either but whatever wording I wanted, such as for my middle child Santa says “Good job Gavin being a good big brother and working on your workbook pages.”  The idea is to play the video after your kids open their presents, which Santa leaves a card so your kids know its there to watch.  While my boys still do believe in Santa I think this video is going to really drive it home for them because not only does Santa speak their names with messages to them, but they are messages unique to now.  So yes this DVD couldn’t be used again next year but it is a great way to end Christmas and keep the spirit of Santa alive for that much longer.  I think this would be especially perfect for kids who are on the brink of not believing.
