My boys love Team Umizoomi and now my 16 month old daughter is getting into them. Its amazing that we actually had no toys featuring those silly siblings, until now of course. Nickelodeon has come out with some fun Team Umizoomi toys, including the Umi Shape Adventures Board.
Fisher-Price Team Umizoomi Umi Shape Adventures Board
Learn to create with shapes with Milli, Geo and Bot! Just insert a mission card into Bot’s belly screen and then find the shapes needed to build the object or scene! Once you’ve plugged the shapes into the board, you can slide the UmiCar button to see the shapes spin and to hear phrases & sound effects! Included are 12 shapes and 4 double-sided mission cards- build 8 scenes in all! Includes 3 “AA” (R6) batteries.
The Umi Shape Adventures Board is a board with 12 shapes and 8 scenes for kids to add the shapes too. It is perfect for kids learning shapes and colors, in a fun way of course! My 16 month old sat with this board and could push (and remove) the shapes herself and laughed each time the Team Umizoomi voices would come on. For example when you put the Farm scene it, they talk about building a tractor and ask about different shapes. They ask questions like “Do you have a circle?” Changing the scenes is as easy as sliding one out and another one in and it is amazing how the board recognizes which scene you put in and starts talking about it.
The board comes with 8 scenes (on a total of four cards):
The scenes are on these heavy-duty vinyl cards, but of course you still need to be careful. They do wipe clean easily too, which is great because of course Olivia always has sticky fingers. Now yes I can see her getting board with this after awhile because it only contains eight cards, but its a great toy for her to start off her shapes with that makes sound (because doesn’t every toy have to make sound for it to be fun!) When kids have the shapes in they can zoom the plastic Umi car across and it makes a noise from the scene (like a car zooming, boat in the water and so forth.)
Now at first I didn’t like this toy because there was no where to store the shapes, just the scene cards. Then I realize if I store all the scene cards in the back then all the shapes can just fit in the empty spaces! Duh! Now I like it and Olivia can carry it around with her, yes it has a handle on the sides too.
Overall, this really is a cute toy perfect for any child learing their shapes or a Team Umizoomi fan. My boys (4 and 5) even played with this a little but lost interest once they completed all the easy scenes. I’d say this is perfect for 18 months (or a little younger) to maybe 3 years old.
