Did you know that since the Box Tops for Education program started back in 1996 it has given more than $500 million dollars to schools? That is pretty amazing if you ask me! I mean who would have thought that a little pink (or sometimes clear) piece of paper could raise that much for a school. I love too that just by buying brands I trust that I were already planning on buying can also support my kids’ school. Even before I had kids though I cut those Box Tops out and passed them on to the neighborhood kids to bring to school, otherwise its like throwing away free money that any school could definitely use!
There is pretty much a Box Tops for Education product for anything you need. Food, paper products, Ziploc bags and containers, Kleenex tissues, and even office products! Sometimes I buy brands specifically because they feature the Box Tops for Education logo and other times I buy something and didn’t even realize it had the label on it. With so many great products though it is hard to not want to buy them like the Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix bars, Fiber One Protein Bars, Green Giant frozen vegetables, Scott toilet paper or paper towels or Betty Crocker anything!
So while you are trying to stock your pantry back up from all the holiday craziness, think about how you can help support your schools at the same time! All you have to do is clip the label from those products and send them off in a Ziploc bag or envelope to your school and they will do the rest! Even if you don’t have a child in school, I am sure you can find a child from within your family or the neighborhood that will gladly turn them in for you. I always say every little bit counts and even though those labels are only worth $0.10 each, they add up and if every child turned in just ten a year (saying the school had 500 students, like an elementary school might), thats $500 for your school! I know for me we accumulate around ten Box Tops labels a month!
