“I’d Like to Thank the Academy For Merci Chocolates…” #MerciAwards

 

This past weekend I had the chance to watch the Oscars and it was pretty much what I expected.  Every awards show flows together and all have cheesy speeches.  Don’t get me wrong, some speeches are good but so many start with”I’d like to thank the Academy…”  Some speeches too seem like they go on forever!  I don’t even know why they bother naming everyones names, because it is inevitable that they will forget someone.

So it got me thinking what my speech would be if I won an award.  While I don’t have a full speech because I would obviously want it to coincide with whatever award I’d be in the running for, here is the jist of what I’d say:

Thanks to my mom and stepdad for all their support and love.  Without them I would not have grown up to be the woman I am today.  Thanks too to my children for challenging me everyday and my husband for his patience and love.  Finally thank you to everyone that has ever believed in me.

I am all about short and sweet!  So how did I enjoy the Oscars?  Well with wine, chocolate and popcorn!  That was my way of being fancy while watching the awards show.  If you have never heard of Merci Chocolates you are definitely missing out.  They are a fine assortment of European Chocolate whose brand name literally means thank you.  Each box contains 20 pieces of rich, indulgent, individually wrapped chocolates from the seven flavor varieties including Dark Mousse, Hazelnut-Almond, Dark Cream, and Praline-Crème.  Oh the creaminess and rich flavors just suck me in to a chocolate-bliss!
