TWISTER Rave Ringz and Skip It {Review}

One of my favorite toys from my childhood was my Skip-It.  I seriously skipped around and around for hours with my pink Skip-It and was constantly challenging myself to beat my number from the previous day.  Then Skip-It was discontinued, but now Hasbro has brought back a new and improved Skip-It featuring none other than Twister fun.  TWISTER Rave Skip It is a Skip-It where you have to hop on one leg and watch the colors glow as you skip, when all four colors glow you’ve made it.  There are four colors and more than 20 light patterns that you watch change as you move up to the next level.

So TWISTER Rave is easy to use right out of the box.  First, add 3 AAA batteries.

Then slip on your leg and start skipping.  You don’t need to attach it, other than slipping it on and it is a very big loop so it shouldn’t be a problem to slip on any leg.  It is recommended to use with socks and shoes, but I tried it out in our basement barefoot for a quick workout and had fun!  Even my kids (4 and 6 years old) had to try it out!

The way TWISTER Rave Skip It works is as you skip it lights up and each level makes it glow another color.  The goal is to light up all four colors.  Once you stop it resets the colors back to one.  The only thing I wish it had was an actual counter too like the old Skip It I remember so I can also see how many steps I skipped.  Overall though this is something that I will definitely be using when its warmer outside and I am sure I will have to fight my boys for it!  I would say too it is not necessary a girls toy either but a toy for any kid looking for some new outdoor fun.

Other than Skip-It, another childhood memory I have is playing those hand-slapping games on the playground during recess.  I could sing “Miss Susie Had a Steam Boat” like no other.  Well Hasbro has revolutionized that game too by creating “TWISTER Rave Ringz.”  Just put on the two rings and push the tops to start playing.  By doing different movements such as clapping, snapping and twisting your hands the rings light up different colors.  The lights start out red and the challenge is to turn them green.  You get one game in the instructions and then you can go to PlayTwister.com to master 20 more hand clap games.  These rings come with the required batteries (they are the small circle batteries.)  Honestly I didn’t try out the other games but rather just played with the rings on my hands, they are pretty cool just on themselves.  These would be fun for a party!  You can play on your own or with someone else.

BUY IT:  Look for TWISTER Rave Skip-It ($19.99) and Twister Rave Ringz ($9.99) wherever Hasbro toys are sold.
