My boys absolutely love cars and customizing them is something they never get to do since the cars are usually always put together.  Lately they have moved on from their Hot Wheels to their LEGOs because they can build cars out of LEGOs and then play with them.  Well Manhattan Toy Company has created a new product line that has taken over my boys playtime.  The new line is called MOTORWORKS and inspires kids to customize their cars through a selection of interchangeable parts and accessories.  No batteries required, just good ole’ fashion building and playing, but with lots of options!

The MOTORWORKS Collection includes three different trim levels:  the Street Series, Speed Series and Extreme Series.  So whether you have a Racer fan, Monster truck fan or even a Fireman fan, there is a car for every child!  Each series starts off with a beautifully crafted beech wooden body that kids then snap on different pieces.  The pieces are interchangeable across all the different MOTORWORKS products.
MOTORWORKS Vehicles:
  • Street Series: GT Road Racer, FX Tuner Wagon or XT Sport
  • Speed Series: EXS Ground Effects Roadster, FSS Flareside Truck or STS Stealth Police Cruiser
  • Extreme Series: FSX Monster Truck, STX Patriot Dragster or FX Fire Chief

Just some of the selection:

Accessories:

  • Custom Car Decals
  • Ground Effects wheels and trim
  • Street Drifter wheels and trim
  • Police Pursuit wheels and trim
  • Racing Wheels and trim
  • Monster Wheels and trim
  • Downforce Dragster wheels and trim
Just some accessories packages:
My boys had a blast customizing their cars and changing them up over and over!   It is amazing how something as simple as a wooden car can capture a kids attention.  The addition of the plastic pieces allow kids to create a car for whatever mood they are in and then change it up!  I was amazed too at how much my boys shared the pieces and took turns with them.  As far as storage goes, we just store them all in a ziploc bag, easy enough.
All of our pieces from two cars and an accessory pack:
One sweet ride:
