Small Vacations Vs. 1 Big Vacation

This year I hope to have a few staycations planned where we will visit somewhere local for the night, there has been tons of great Groupons lately that I just need to pick one or two!  I know I will be last minute though searching for reductions on city breaks at lastminute.com.  I do have two small vacations planned too to nearby states, which I am so excited to show my kids places I used to go as a child!  I think the cost of our two small vacations will still leave use with some leftover money, which we will then put aside towards another vacation.

This year we decided instead of going to Disney World like we have the last three years, we would go on a few small vacations.  The cost of Disney World is just so expensive that we can pretty much only do that once a year and there isn’t really money leftover for a small vacation.  So the whole rest of the year we are left longing for next year’s vacation!  For example the last vacation we went on was last April so its been over a year now and we are itching to go somewhere.  Yes I know many people don’t get to go on vacations more than once a year or even every year in general, but we work hard and save so we can hopefully make it work each year and have been fortunate so far to do so.

I haven’t completely discounted the idea of Disney World this year, but it is pretty much a dream at this point.  I am working on next year and hoping to find a sale on holidays in Florida for 2014.  Something about Florida just keeps calling me back and I love that we have been fortunate to bring them there.
