One product that I remember fondly from my childhood is my collection of Lincoln Logs.  I remember sitting for hours playing with those little logs and configuring house after house.  Nowadays I feel like my kids only want to play with some kind of technology (computer, iPad, LeapPad…) and not actually get down on the ground and play.  My boys do love to build though when I nudge them in that direction and I love that K’NEX has continued on with the Lincoln Logs line.  Yes the Lincoln Logs I loved as a child I can now purchase for my kids.

This is an awesome set for any new or old Lincoln Log fan.  With 83 pieces including real wood logs, a cowboy, a horse, a roof, and a door, it includes everything to build a little ranch and then play with it.  My boys actually each built little cabins, but only one had a roof since it only includes one.  The pieces though were like I remember them and fit together like they should.  My boys played with this set for a good hour the first time and have since played with it every day.  We actually went to Wisconsin Dells for vacation and out of all the toys they wanted to bring this set to play with in the hotel.

Overall, this is the perfect set for beginners or to add on to another Lincoln Logs set.  We actually have the Lincoln Logs White River Ranch set which they remembered and they then combined the sets.  I honestly don’t mind playing this set with my kids, it is so much better than the same old cars and action figures they have.  For storage, everything fits nicely in the durable cardboard box.  Kids have the freedom to be creative and explore with these pieces, and I think every kids needs a little of that in their daily lives!
