100th Anniversary of TINKERTOY {Review} #KNEX

I have written before about my love of TINKERTOYS and I will continue to scream from the room how much I love them.  Well I am apparently not the only one who loves them as TINKERTOY is celebrating its 100th anniversary!  In celebration of its 100 years they are realeasing a 100 piece essentials set!  I cannot believe TINKERTOYS has been entertaining kids for 100 years but that just goes to show the quality and playability of them!

My boys love this set.  There is plenty of pieces for a few kids to play with and my two boys (ages 5 and 6) had enough pieces to build separate sets and then work together on building a big windmill.  There are visual instructions with examples to re-create pieces, or of course kids can go crazy and build whatever they can dream up.  The pieces easily snap together and easily come apart when you want to, but thats not to say either that they are flimsy.  Once the pieces are together they can be played with and stay where they should.  I am always amazed at the creations my boys come up with.  They always come back to their TINKERTOY sets too and these pieces made a great addition to what they already have.

Everything is easily stored inside the box with plenty of room to fit more Tinkertoys in.  I will admit the box is a little deceiving though as its a huge box with a smaller bag of pieces inside.  I think they made it so big to be able to store other pieces inside but it was a little strange to see how small the set inside is.  The 100 pieces are various sizes, many small ones that work as connectors, which you need a lot of and so they take up a lot of the 100 pieces inside.
