Gears! Gears! Gears!® Motorized On the Move Building Set {Review}

Disclosure: I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion.

My boys are huge builders and honestly I am constantly amazed at what they come up with and how they do it all themselves.  Sets that are for older kids are no problem for my 5 and 6 year sons.  I am though constantly looking for sets that will challenge them a little but still be fun.  Learning Resources of course has us covered.

Gears! Gears! Gears!®

Motorized On the Move Building Set

Take mechanical reasoning skills to the next level by designing and constructing motor-powered vehicles! Features enough pieces (and instructions), to build three exciting models: a race car, an airplane and a repositionable motorcycle. But they’re just ideas! There’s no limit to the combinations children will be able to create, while also building perseverance and problem solving skills. Includes a tethered motor, hand control with a forward/backward switch, end connectors, wheels, propeller, glow in the dark stickers, Activity Guide and more. All pieces are compatible with other Gears! Gears! Gears!® sets. Requires 3 AA batteries, not included. Grades 1+ | Ages 6+

I wasn’t sure how hard this set would be for my boys, but sure enough they did it.  The set was just challenging enough that it took them awhile but not too long that they got frustrated or gave up.  They were determined little boys!  In this set there are enough pieces to make three big creations, not all at the same time though.  So first my boys decided to build the motorcycle.
The directions were pretty easy to follow as they are all visual, nothing to read.
So proud of his creation:
After they finished the motorcycle and watched it move, yes it moves, they were reluctant to take it apart to build something else (race car, airplane, or whatever their little minds can come up with.)  The remote is attached to a piece that starts off the creation and has two buttons on it, it does require 3 AA batteries too.  His motorcycle did move, slowly but it moved.  This Motorized on the Move set is compatible with other Gears! Gears! Gears! sets, which of course my boys now want more pieces.  For now though the set does come with a decent amount of pieces to keep them busy!
