Mattel and DreamWorks Animation Bring Turbo to Life With Toys {Review}

Ever since my boys saw the previews for the movie Turbo they have been begging to go and I mean begging.  I was surprised as they usually aren’t excited for new movies but they are getting older (5 and 6) and their attention spans are getting better, they want to see everything!  Well the problem we end up having is that they get hooked on a movie and want a toy or book featuring those characters.  Luckily, Mattel has us covered as they have some awesome Turbo toys out!

We got the chance to check out some Turbo Shell Racers and Turbo Zip Line Stunt Race Set, and my boys love them!  They played with the set before they saw the movie and probably more so now that they have seen the movie!  The Turbo Shell Racers are small packs of two Turbo racers that are perfect on their own or combined with one of the Turbo playsets!  Kids can collect their favorite characters and watch them zoom around, no batteries required!  To go even further with your Turbo Shell Racers there are numerous playsets available and I was lucky enough to get the the Turbo Zip Line Stunt Race Set to check out.  My boys were beyond excited to check out their new set.

Setting up Turbo Zip Line Stunt Race Set I will say definitely required adult help, but once set up we were good to go.  The recommend ages are 3+ and I’d say that is about right.  My boys are 5 and 6 and loved it, and their 2 year old sister of course had to take a turn.  Once the set is together though it is pretty sturdy, well as sturdy as you’d expect, but it does not come apart easily.  Once the set is together plan on keeping it set up basically, which wasn’t a problem for my boys.  I’d say though if you buy the set you definitley need to buy a pack of the Turbo Shell Racers because it does only come with one Turbo Shell Racer and what’s a race if they are all alone!  My boys had a blast with this set for well over an hour which completely surprised me, but it is pretty cool to watch them fly and how everything in the set works together to open and close.  If you have a Turbo fan, this set is a must-have, and at the price of $15.99 its pretty affordable.
