I received complimentary passes for my family and I in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
I can’t remember how old I was the first time we went to Cedar Point, but it was sometime when I was in high school. We went almost every year after that and then I had kids. Fast forward a few years (okay six years) and I finally made it back to Cedar Point Amusement Park, this time with my three kids in tow. To say we had a blast would be an understatement, my kids actually asked to go back the first few minutes of our drive home!
If you have never heard of Cedar Point, it is located on a pennisula in Sandusky, Ohio right on Lake Erie. Its the number-one rated amuseent park on the planet and is actually the second oldest amusement park in North America with its history dating back to 1870! Obviously Cedar Point has come a long way and even though its in Ohio, it really is a great vacation spot.
First I’d say Cedar Point is great for people of all ages. My kids (ages 2, 5 and 6) had plenty to do with the four (yes FOUR) kid’s areas and my husband and I had plenty to do with all the other rides, including 14 adult roller coasters! My absolute favorite is wooden coasters and Cedar Point has plenty to choose from, which is rare since so many theme parks seem to be switching to all steel ones. Speaking of steel roller roasters, the Millenium Force was voted the best steel roller coaster in the WORLD!
Here are pics from our trip, which apparently most of my pics are kids rides, so I guess my review is more focused on Cedar Point with kids 6 and under:
There was I think 3 roller coasters my boys were tall enough for:
Love this pic of my husband and brother with my boys on their shoulders:
Swings!
Yep my brother and sister rode those swings!
My boys watched in awe with grandma!
This year we got to ride the new ride, GateKeeper. It is a record-breaking wing roller coaster that has passengers seated on each side (wing) of the coaster. It was probably the smoothest roller coaster I have ever been on, but I did have issues with how tight the part got on my chest. I guess that is what I get for pushing it down further for extra safety, I seriously thought I cracked a lung it was so tight on me! Would I ride the ride again, absolutely!
Overall, we had a blast at Cedar Point and can’t wait to go back. We are not alone either as more than 3 million guests visit Cedar Point each summer. Don’t worry if you didn’t make it there either this summer, Cedar Point is open weekends through October and feature their fun Halloweekends, which we’ve been to before and it is pretty awesome. I’d say you definitely need at least two days to really do everything, especially if you have small kids. We stayed at Hotel Breakers, which is the hotel right there, and it was nice to head back to the room to wind down or take break and swim at Soak City, the waterpark right next to Cedar Point. If its just adults you can probably do it all in one day but you’ll be rushing. So anyways two days is perfect and they do offer tickets where you can get two days at a discount.
Until we meet again Cedar Point…

Bringing snacks and bottled water to the park is a great way to keep kids hydrated and energized to enjoy the rides all day long.
This is by far and hands down the BEST amusement park in the world!!!! My husband and I go there every year with a couple of friends and we absolutely love it. We usually get there the night before to check-in to the resort and end up riding all rides until the park closes and then we go again next day, all day! We went to 6 Flags over Georgia last week and were so disappointed. We won't ever go back to a 6 Flags. Nothing compares to Cedar Point! Best amusement park ever!
We took one son and a cousin to Cedar Park 16 years ago! We all loved it. I hope we can take the grandkids in a few years when they are in their teens!
Yay, thank for giving some love in Ohio!! Glad you had a great time. Sometimes I forget how often I take the park for granted how great it really is!
We love Ohio! We went to Columbus last year for the zoo and museum, amazing! We've also been to King's Island (?) amusement park.
