Britax Parkway SG Booster {Review}

Disclosure:  I received this product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Britax is a brand that has been keeping kids safe in cars for more than 70 years through their constant innovations of child car seats and their ease of installation and use.  Originally in the European market, Britax has been trusted by the American parents since 1996.  With rigorous testing and through a relationship with car manufacturers, Britax is abel to constantly improve their design and performance of their child safety seats.  I never really thought about a car seat company working with car manufacturers, but it makes so much sense!  I mean a car seat can be amazing but if it doesn’t comfortably, safely and easily fit into a car, then it really isn’t worth it then.

Britax has four different child car seat varieties available, as well as strollers and accessories.

  • Infant car seats for use rear facing with children who weigh between 4 and 30 pounds.
  • Convertible child seats for use rear facing with children who weigh up to 40 pounds and for use forward facing for children 20 pounds, up to 70 pounds.
  • Harness-2-Booster child seats for use forward facing with a harness up to 90 pounds, and then as a belt-positioning booster seat for use with children up to 62 inches tall or 120 pounds.
  • Belt-positioning booster seats for use with children who weigh up to 120 pounds.

I got the chance to check out the Parkway SG Booster from Britax, which is a Belt-Positioning Booster Seat.  When I first put it in our car I was worried I’d have to coax one of my boys to use it, since they were comfy in their old seats, but actually started fighting over the seat!  This booster seat is amazing!

Here are some of the features direct from the Britax page:

My favorite feature of our new booster seat, not sure I can even pick one!  There is the easily wipeable fabric, that is easily removeable but I haven’t had to remove it yet.  The fabric is the kind where it doesn’t soak in foods or liquids, but rather it keeps them from soaking in.  Since this is a belt-positioning booster there is no installation required, just bucked your child in.  What is unique though is the SecureGuard in front that you slip the seatbelt right through and it keeps it in the right position.  Since my boys are 5 and 6, we use it with the backrest and honestly I am going to insist on it as long as I can.  I don’t think my boys mind either as they love it to rest their heads instead of slumping forward.  So yes you can remove the backrest if you want to convert it to a backless booster seat, while still maintaining the safety of SecureGuard.

Really there is nothing I would add or change about this booster seat.  It has blown me away with it features.  My boys favorite features?  Probably the arm rests and the dual cup/snack holders.  Its interesting how I was so concerned about my children’s seats when they were infants and toddlers but once they move onto a booster seat I didn’t realize how different they could be.

I love how Britax does all the thinking for me as far as my children’s safety goes.  With their True Side Impact Protection, SafeCell Technology and SecureGuard, Britax really goes the extra step to keep kid’s safe.  As a mom of three I have enough to worry about, and with Britax I can have at least a little peace of mind that my child is safe and secure.  The use of a booster seat can reduce injury rates by 58% over the use of a seat belt alone, and I like to think that this Britax Booster is even better for our odds of safety!  This really is an amazing booster seat!
