One company that continues to amaze me with their children’s products is Super Duper Publications. We currently have a few products from Super Duper Publications and they continue to amaze me. From the All About You, All About Me Fun Deck to the MagneTalk Early Classifying to our Dice Dudes (my absolute must have!) Super Duper Publications has so many great products.
While I don’t homeschool my kids, I do encourage educational games and want my boys to have extra practice at home. My 1st grader especially needs the extra help and the only way I have found that really works is through games. Super Duper Publications has so many awesome educational games and activity sets such as Pirate Talk, Grammar Gumballs or Ask and Answer Bingo, just to name a few.
I got the chance to check out two of their hot products: Pirate Talk Board Game and MagneTalk Match-Up Adventure Kit with Barrier.
Kids embark on a swashbuckling adventure as they sail the high seas with this receptive and expressive language skills game. As students respond to each prompt, they move from island to island on the colorful game board and collect gold coins. The prompts reinforce seven essential communication skills: Sentence Repetition, Answering Questions, Following Directions, Categorizing, Inferencing, Describing and Social Skills. The 150 color-coded language cards target five key categories for students: school, people, home, community and activities.
This is a board game that is perfect for getting kids thinking and following directions. The best part I think is the electronic spinner – no dice to loose just tap it and wait to see what number the light stops on. As kids, aka pirates, move around the board they look at a picture and answer questions. It is a fun way to get kids thinking and working out their brains, and they think they are just having fun! My boys love winning the gold doubloons (coins) and its become a family game we play often! They do need help though as they can’t read the cards yet.
This one of a kind, magnetic masterpiece targets a ton of language and listening skills. Best of all, the barrier game format is perfect for following directions, giving directions, storytelling, improving vocabulary, and a whole lot more! Your students will have a blast going camping, swimming through the ocean, and traveling to outer space while learning to listen and use language effectively. The game targets a host of skills including following directions, storytelling, basic concepts and rhyming.
This is an amazing product for teaching kids to follow directions, storytelling and so much more. First off the barrier is a plastic stand that allows you to put one of the five different game boards on each side. From there kids can either be creative with the pieces or you can give them directions on where to put them, such as “Put the XXX on top of the XXX.” My boys are terrible at following directions and I have been having them each work on a side to see who can get everything right. There is competition between them to see who can follow the directions the best and they think its silly! My 2 year old loves to just put the pieces all over but I will be working with her on it. There are a total of 100 magnetic pieces which you can mix and match! When they are all done, everything fits inside the bag which I absolutely love! The barrier even comes with a bigger bag to fit both the barrier and the game boards with pieces.
Besides using the game boards, kids can also use the MagneTalk Barrier as a dry erase tabletop easel or just magnetic board in general. For the price of $90 for the Barrier and the Match-up Adventures Kit is a great deal and the possibilities are endless for kids! My kids (6, 5, and 2) have done so much with it already and I know they have only scratched the surface with activities. Since its a tabletop easel you can even use it for practicing homework with the dry erase board and a marker! There is even a workbook with ideas to help out parents and teachers to facilitate lessons.
Even little pockets inside to separate pieces:
Fits everything inside:
