Hello 18″ Dollie & Me Dolls! {Review}

My daughter absolutely loves dolls but I admit I am not going to go broke buying them for her, especially since she is not even three yet. I do believe you get what you pay for as far as quality goes and honestly my first thought was to get her an American Girl doll. At over a $100 a doll though I quickly changed my mind. Then I saw Dollie & Me dolls and I knew that was exactly what I was looking for.

Dollie & Me dolls are actually made by Madame Alexander, who is the gold standard in dolls for 90+ years. Madame Alexander dolls to me have always been absolutely beautiful and collectible, I had no idea they dolls for kids to actually play with! What about the price? Dollie & Me dolls cost less than half of American Girl dolls. Since the price is less you may be wondering about the quality, don’t be! I got the chance to check out a Dollie & Me doll and she is absolutely beautiful and I know she is a doll my daughter is going to cherish for many years to come. The dolls are an incredible value and I really feel like they are a hidden gem in the line of dolls!

So other than being absolutely affordable and made by the prestigious Madame Alexander, what else is great about Dollie & Me?

• They are 18 inch dolls so you you can mix and match the Dollie & Me clothes and accessories you may already have from other 18 inch dolls you own. Yes even American Girls.

• While American Girl targets girls 8+, Dollie & Me is great all the way down to 3+. Dollie is a great doll to start with right from the start, and at the price you don’t have to feel like you are on pins and needles each time your daughter plays with her Dollie. I know if I spent over $100 on one doll for my daughter I would worry about her taking her out of the house or really playing with her. Not that I wouldn’t worry with Dollie, but we all know how young kids can be with toys and I am not ready to invest all this money for a 3 year old. Oh and just because Dollie is geared towards girls starting at age 3, don’t think she is babyish either.  I actually recommend the Dollie line to my neighbor who has a 9 year old!

• What is cuter than having a doll with adorable clothes? When your daughter can match her doll! I had no clue that American Girl clothes won’t fit young girls, whereas Dollie has matching clothes starting at 2T. This is especially important for young girls, since I know for my daughter at least she was overjoyed to match her doll not to mention how absolutely adorable Dollie clothes are!

• Dollie & Me is not just online! I found Dollie & Me clothes at my local Kohl’s! I have already told all my family members to pick up my daughter an outfit. The Dollie & Me girls clothes come with an outfit for your daughter as well as her doll. Affordable? Of course!

I wish I could have captured my daughters face when she saw her new Dollie & Me doll, as it was priceless. I don’t think I have ever seen her eyes and mouth open so wide! She screamed with excitement and when she saw the matching outfit, she jumped up with joy! She has taken her Dollie & Me doll all over the house, to bed, and yes I let her take it out of the house wherever we go.

Overall, I am highly impressed with Dollie & Me. I was skeptical at first since I had never heard of the line of dolls before, but like I said “Dollie is a hidden gem.” There is nothing I’d change either! There is a good variety of dolls available and the clothes are absolutely adorable. I never realized the importance (for lack of a better word) of have your daughter’s clothes match her dolls, but it really brings playtime to a whole new level. She is made of high quality material and I definitely see more Dollie dolls in our future.
