My kids love games, but we get sick of the same ole’ games. You know what I’m talking about, the ones with cards, dice, money and so forth. Not that there is anything wrong with those games, but they are not really good for young kids. Well the game Sofia the First Magical Tea Time Game is not only perfect for young kids (ages 3 and up) but it is unlike traditional games! Since its for preschoolers, there is no reading, money counting or hard directions to follow.
It’s time for tea with Princess Sofia! As the magical teapot blows on your tea, the color in your teacup changes! There are so many pretty treats for tea time. When the color in your teacup changes, you earn the treats on the plate of the matching color! Along the way, Sofia and the Good Fairies reward you for your proper tea time manners!

Okay so this game first off is adorable with the little squeezable teapot, treat cards and place settings. Setting up the game is super easy and just a matter basically of laying the treat cards on the board and handing out a place setting and teacup to each player (its for 2-4 players.) Then a player chooses a treat from the board and flips it over. She will then do one of seven things. Now this would be a little hard for preschoolers to play right alone so I would recommend an adult play as well. I only say its hard because you need to remember what each card signifies.
For example:
The game is won once all the treats are gone. Now kids can play however they want, which is honestly what we have been doing since my daughter isn’t quite 3 yet and doesn’t fully get the concepts. However you play the game though it teaches lessons of sharing, manners, pretend play and following directions. This is a cute game whether your child is a Sofia the First fan or not. Right now we don’t really have a little table to play this at but hopefully Santa is bringing one and I think it will be even cuter for my daughter to play with her friends at a little table.

So only part I struggle with my preschooler. Is the tea pot blowing and treat assignment. So if she blows my cup and I have pink, and she blows her cup and she gets pink. Then which of us gets the pink plate of treats? Or if my cup turns blue and hers turns green. And there are no treats on the green, but treats on the blue. She will be upset. 😢 only part that provides hiccup in this game and hard to work thru. And tips?
This is the sweetest game I've read about in a very long time. I must get this for my daughter.
It is super cute!
