There are times when I just have a few things on the floor and I don’t want to drag out my whole vacuum to pick them up.  Don’t get me wrong, I have some amazing vacuums but sometimes I just need something quick and easy.  No plugs, no batteries to charge.  Well the new Swiffer Sweep & Trap is just that.

It amazes me how Swiffer just keeps coming out with new products but they have done it again.  The Swiffer Sweep & Trap is a Swiffer sweeper that uses the Swiffer Pads and picks up dirt and pieces as you push it.  It does not need to be plugged in nor does it need batteries or charging.  Just slip on a Swiffer pad and push it.  I found that I could even leave the Swiffer pad on for a few uses and did not need to change it each time I used it.  It would definitely add up costs if I changed the pad each time but I found I didn’t need to, so I’d recommend waiting to change the pad until you really need to.

So how well did the Swiffer Sweep & Trap pick up? Well Swiffer actually sent me some sample items to pick up which included nuts/bolts and some wood shavings.  I was skeptical but after a few sweeps of the floor I was able to pick it all up.    Now it is not perfect, but for something that doesn’t require batteries or a plug, it worked decent.  For small quick clean-ups this would be something to use.

I also tried the Swiffer Sweep & Trap in my basement on popcorn and it picked up most of it.  Some of the pieces were big and it was moving those pieces around rather than just picking them up.  I was bummed it didn’t pick up everything.  My kids actually liked using the Swiffer and seeing what they could clean up.

So would I recommend the Swiffer Sweep & Trap?  Honestly, I’m not sure.  I like the concept and ease of use, but I am not sure I’d like buying refills for it and the fact that it does not pick up everything 100%.  The price though of around $20 is worth a shot and like I said my kids like using it – so maybe it will be something they will use to help out!  I haven’t completely ruled this product out yet, and I am still trying it out in different areas of my house.

BUY IT:  The New Swiffer Sweep & Trap can be found at Walmart.
