As a mom of three I have given my kids more baths than I can count, and we have tried out tons of bath toys. The one toy my kids always wanted in the tub was a table for them to play with their cars and toys on. We have a bunch that suction cup to the wall, but until now we never had a table. In comes the Tubby Table to save bath time for my kids!
Children and parents love the calming effects of water play. Tubby Table Toys, Inc created the Tubby Table to take the stress out of bath time by ensuring you child’s water play stays in the bath tub and off the bathroom floor. Developed for children by moms with twins, the Tubby Table engages children ages 1 & up with five multicolored, numbered and shaped cups, a surface to play on and hours of endless fun.
Features:
- 5 multi-colored and numbered shape cups reinforce key fine motor, cognitive, and developmental skills
- Patented and innovative pedestal with suction cup design keeps water play in the middle of the tub instead of the edges of the tub where cups & toys are more apt to fall onto the bathroom floor. It’s height adjustable allowing it to grow with your child.
- Includes a colorful non-slip bath mat to keep little ones safe while playing in the bath tub
- Flat surface allows for endless play with included cups or with your child’s favorite bath time toys
- Easy to Assemble. Fits virtually ANY bath size bath tub
So the Tubby Table is a plastic table that suctions to the bottom of the tub and comes with shapes for kids to play with. Now I will say I was surprised at how big the Tubby Table is. I put it in our big whirlpool tub in my master bath which my daughter has taken over for herself so there is plenty of room, but in a regular sized tub it would probably take up half the tub. If you are able to leave the Tubby Table in the tub that would be the easiest, if you need to store it because adults use the tub then you will have to find somewhere to store it. The Tubby Table does not fold up so it is bulky if you need to store it, luckily I am able to leave it as it is for my kids to use.
When I first put this in the tub my 2.5 year old daughter played with it for probably about 30 minutes. She just kept taking the shapes in and out and then putting other pieces on the table surface to play. As far as learning goes, you can teach your kids about the different shapes, colors and numbers – so its not just a toy! This unit is all plastic, except a few screws you do need to install and it dries out very easily. My boys haven’t had a chance to use it yet but I see many cars zooming across the table in the future. I also think I will use this in the summer in our kiddie plastic pool for more fun!
