There are not many things worse than being helpless as a parent.  Like when my kids are sick and I know they just need to fight the illnesses before they can get better, I want to do all that I can to help ease their pain.  With this crazy weather we have been having in Chicago, I feel like someone in my household is sick at all times.  The illness slowly working its way through every family member then another illness takes over and starts the cycle again.

What I have found though as a mom is that there is not a lot of medicines safe for young kids.  Most medicines that I normally buy are for ages 6 and up, and even if they are safe for younger kids they are not ones my kids want.  Not too long ago I gave my 6 year old a cough drop to help with his sore throat which he promptly spit out because of its taste.  I tried to explain how if he wants his sore throat to feel better then sucking on the cough drop will help but he wasn’t having any of that.

Chloraseptic Sore Throat Spray is definitely a product I wish I would have thought of.   I have actually used it on my own throat but I had’t even thought of it when my kids were sick and looking at the Chloraseptic website it appears it can be used by kids ages 4 and up.  It is definitely safer than lozenges as well, which kids can choke on.  The sprays come in a range of flavors sure to appeal to kids including cherry, citrus and honey lemon.  There is also alcohol, aspirin and sugar free flavors.
