Monster, Monster, Monster Trucks! {Review} #monsterjamchi #monsterjam

Disclosure:  I received complimentary tickets in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Allstate Arena, Feb 7-9, 2014

Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can fly up to 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air. Monster Jam, sanctioned by the United States Hot Rod Association, is the most popular monster truck tour, performing to over 4 million fans annually at the most prestigious arenas and stadiums throughout the world. Monster Jam shows consist of three main fan-favorite elements – the pit party, racing and freestyle.

This weekend my family headed to Monster Jam and as usual, we had a blast!  It is seriously the one show my boys look forward to all year.  The show runs about two hours and is almost non-stop action (with a 15 minute intermission.)  The show is broken down into different rounds, such as Racing, FreeStyle and Wheelies.  Then each truck is rated and there are winners.  It is super fun and exciting to watch, especially being on pins and needles worrying if the trucks will flip over.

Since my review is probably best described with pictures, I took a bunch of course!

  • Oh wow! My son would love to attend one of these shows. He's 3.5yrs and loves monster trucks.

  • I remember going to one of these shows when I was small enough to sit on my dad's shoulders. It was noisy as heck and I didn't really see much. That's so cool that your boys got to experience it! Headphones are a must! I'm popping over from the SITS Girls "Spread The Comment Love" challenge. Hope to connect with you!
