Recipe: Apple Tartlet

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon dried Ginger (the recipe actually called for candied Ginger, but I only had dried Ginger)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 packages (15 each) mini phyllo dough shells (I found these in the freezer aisle)

Directions:

  • HEAT oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a small saucepan, add apples, sugar, cinnamon, butter, ginger and water.  On Medium heat bring apple mixture to a simmer and cover, cook for 5 minutes then remove from heat.
  • FILL each phyllo shell with a teaspoon of filling.
  • PLACE on parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • BAKE for 8-10 minutes.
  • SERVE warm or at room temperature.

I found these in the frozen food aisle by pie crusts:
