Until recently I hadn’t realized how much of difference a lightbulb could make. Slowly we have been converting our lightbulbs throughout our house from the cheap basic lightbulbs to nicer bulbs. You really do get what you pay for with lightbulbs and for just a little bit more you can totally makeover a room by just upgrading the lightbulbs. Yep a simple lightbulb can make a difference in the whole room’s appearance.

Target stores are actually featuring a new lighting section including GE reveal® premium light bulbs. The reveal® bulbs are known for transforming rooms by removing the dull yellows of standard soft whites and instead providing clean white light that help the colors (and everything else) in your home to pop. GE Lighting also just released a new LED version that you can find at Target.
I got the chance to try out the new GE lightbulbs in my house and I started with my bedroom. My bedroom has terrible lighting and I’d love to have my bedding and curtains really pop. I can’t wait to tackle the rest of my house after seeing the difference that was made in my bedroom.

Overall, it is amazing what these GE reveal® lightbulbs have revealed in my house. No more dull colors in my house, which is especially nice for when I have to take pictures indoors. Oh and of course these lightbulbs are energy efficient bulbs, which means saving money on utility bills! They are also built to last, based on using them for three hours of usage a day the bulb should last over a decade.

Excellent review! The LED lights help to save energy and project a brighter light. In my opinion, they are definitely worth looking into if you are wanting to save money and protect the environment! Thanks for sharing!

Cher, I'd be interested to know the wattage of the light bulb you replaced. To me, it looks like you replaced a 25-watt incandescent with 60-watt equivalents -- so of course it would be much brighter. The ideal comparison to understand what it does to COLORS is to use bulbs of approximately the same lumen output (60-watt incandescent; 43-watt halogen; 11-watt LED) so that we're not seeing a brightness difference but a color rendering difference.
In the industry, incandescent / halogen technically offer the best color rendering (CRI). But traditional incandescents gives us 2700K temperature (warm / slightly yellow) while these bulbs are 3000K (slightly whiter). Often people will use 2700K in places where they want to feel cozy and 3000K in kitchens or areas where color is more important. And then still, just making it whiter doesn't improve CRI, but it definitely affects us subconsciously.
Anyway, it would be cool to have a follow up to this with 3 pictures side by side, showing bulbs of the same light output so people could understand the color issue. And it would even be nice to compare the GE 3000K bulbs to some other brand so we could see whether the Reveal brand made a meaningful difference! :)
