Getting the Kids Flying With Guillow’s Gliders {Review}

Disclosure:  I received the products below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

My kids are all about being outside and love anything that flies.  From flying their own toys to watching airplanes go by, they are fascinated with the sky.  Well Guillow’s toy airplanes are a company that for 88 years now they have been amazing kids with their toy airplane kits.  They feature Foam Gliders and Balsa Gliders at the old fashioned prices of $1.79 to $7.19.

Balsa Gliders & Motorplanes

These little planes are light as a feather and easy to assemble.  You just pop out the pieces and fit them together alone with a rubber band on some of the planes.  Now I will say that these were a little too fragile for my boys, and didn’t work well for them.  They are for ages 8 and up so that might have been the problem since my boys are only 5 and 7.  I’d say for the right age kids they are probably more careful and able to get these planes really flying.  Luckily the prices were affordable so it didn’t break the bank for my boys to try them out, and they did have a blast with them.  These planes range from $1.79 to $3.59.

Foam Gliders

These are super easy to assemble and come with colorful decals to customize them.  From a 2 foot wingspan on the Sky Raider to the mini but mighty Delta Darts, they are soft enough to fly indoors or outside.  My boys had better luck with the mini Delta Darts because they were perfect for their little hands and were all one-piece.  They were able to zoom the foam gliders a little more farther than the Balsa Gliders as well.  These range from $3.99 to $7.19.

Overall my boys had a blast with these planes.  They played with them on a windy day here so they really flew far and they loved that they could assemble them themselves and then play with them.  These are perfect to have on hand for a rainy day inside (they are soft enough they shouldn’t be a problem damaging anything) or to have to zoom around on a boring day outside.  Everything is included so you don’t have to worry about not having something to assemble them.  My boys faces seriously lit up when they saw them and I am sure other kids, both boys and girls, will all enjoy them.  All Guillow’s products are also proudly made in the U.S.A. and have always been.
