Disclosure: I received the products below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
My kids love toys that move, make noise, and are easy to use. When Zhu Zhu pets came out years ago, they became hooked and even to this day they still all play with their Zhu Zhu pet collection. Something about a battery-operated animal that zooms around is appealing to them, and honestly I am all about toy pets as opposed to real pets! Well now Cepia, the makers of Zhu Zhu pets have come out with a new line of toys for kids called The Happy’s. What makes The Happy’s different? Well they are cats and dogs, instead of hamsters, they are bigger and they do tricks! These little pets are super cute and honestly fun for kids. My kids (2, 5 and 7) as well as some neighborhood kids played with these pets for an hour all at once before they got sidetracked to something else. I was super impressed that they kept their attention for not only an hour right away, but that they all played nicely together!
So the way The Happy’s work is you buy each animal which each comes with a remote treat. Now yes you can use the pet without the remote, because yes most kids will probably loose the remote (or maybe that’s just my kids.)
To work your pet, just tap its back where the logo is and its off, push it again to turn it off. Yes that simple!
We received The Happy’s Ball for the pets to chase and boy do those pets love that ball. After flipping the switch on the ball and putting it down, The Happy’s all zoomed towards the ball and when my daughter held the ball, they chased her!
There are other pets available and other toys, but to play you do only need the one pet and its still fun. Of course adding more pets and toys makes it funner but don’t feel like you need to buy everything to get it to work. Overall though I think The Happy’s are super cute and fun. My kids have no problems using them and they do turn themselves off when not in us, which is good since both the pet and the remote takes batteries. The remote does come with the required batteries since its those little cell batteries but the pets require two AAA batteries each. So far so good though with the batteries lasting.
My kids had a blast chasing their new “pets” around and I think they are going to be a hot new toy. My kids already want more and we have four of them! I will say the toys for the pets all look super cute and I am sure we will get a few of those as well since the ball is the only toy we have for them. I will say though make sure to warn kids to keep them away from hair as it is easy to get hair caught in their wheels if they are not careful.
We actually received Werther’s Popcorn as well for the kids to snack on but my son has peanut allergies and its not safe for him so we stuck with marshmallows and popcorn!

Oh and we even did some crafts and made animal ears, super simple and affordable!
And here is a size comparison to Zhu Zhu pets, as you can see these are much bigger (and they do tricks!)
