Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton 2-in-1 Ultra Mattress {Review}

My daughter is finally at the age where she needed a big girl bed and I was at a loss for what mattress to get her.  For my boys first mattresses we had no money and bought bottom of the barrel mattresses.  Boy did I learn my lesson from those.  They are flimsy, cheap mattresses that after just a few years we are more than ready to replace them.  With a mattress you definitely get what you pay for and since we spend so much time in our lives sleeping, a mattress is something to invest in.

Naturepedic is a company that completely surprised me with their No Compromise Organic Cotton 2-in-1 Ultra Mattress.  What makes the mattress a 2-in-1?  Well it has one side that is waterproof and the other is quilted.  This is seriously a genius first mattress especially for kids.  My daughter is not potty trained yet so it is great that we can use the waterproof side now instead of a waterproof mattress pad.  The waterproof side also functions as a dust-mite barrier.  Then when my daughter gets older, I love that I can just flip the mattress over for a more luxurious comfortable feel for her.

Breathable:

All together the mattress is amazing.  I had no clue really what organic cotton was but after reading about it, I love that my daughter is sleeping on it.  According to matter mattress reviews, Organic cotton is basically the purest form of cotton and a healthier alternative to synthetic fabrics and foams.  Naturepedic even goes a step further as to only use U.S. grown and certified organic cotton as its filling for mattress and buys directly from USDA certified sources.  There are also no fire retardant chemicals or barriers on the mattress, but yet Naturepedic passes all Federal and State flammability standards.  This is achieved through its product design, the elimination of polyurethane foam and the use of more natural materials.

What about the firmness of the mattress?  Well Naturepedic calls it Medium-Firm which I definitely agree with.  To provide the support it features a premium 14.5 gauge steel coil innerspring with alternating coil directions, which makes it both comfortable and supportive.  For kids especially that are growing and changing daily I feel they need both supportive and comfortable and I love that this mattress has both features.

On both my side and my husband’s side there are issues with allergies and I love how this Naturepedic mattress has a Hypoallergenic design.  There is no wool or latex so no need to worry about those allergens in the materials and with a built-in dust mite/bed bug barrier on the top and sides there is no need for an additional dust mite encasement.

Overall, the Naturepedic 2-in-1 mattress is amazing both inside and out.  The company itself is a family owned business whose workers are skilled Amish craftsmen.  They want to ensure long lasting durability and are proud to offer the very best organic mattresses available anywhere.  They are even made right here in the U.S.A. and backed with a 20 year limited warranty!  Now yes the Naturepedic mattresses cost a little more than you might expect (for example the Twin 2-in-1 mattress is $749) but you do get what you pay for.  I see this mattress growing with my daughter and lasting through her teen years.
