New LEGO® Star Wars Miniland at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Chicago {Review}

Disclosure:  I attended a media event in exchange for sharing my honest opinion and this information.

My kids love LEGOLAND and we visit there often, fortunately for us they constantly re-design and update the attractions/displays.  Last week we got the chance to visit and check out the New LEGO® Star Wars Miniland model as well as some other renovations they did.

What’s New:

  • The Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope display replaces the Center’s current Star Wars Miniland featuring scenes from Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.
  • LEGO® Racers Build & Test: A newly renovated track where kids can design, build and race their own LEGO car creations.
  • LEGO® Factory: A revamped LEGO Factory gives guests a behind-the-scenes look at how the infamous toy is made.
  • 4-D Cinema: An enhanced 4-D theatre experience.
  • Duplo® Farm: A new Duplo® play area allows more space for the Center’s youngest visitors to explore and create.
  • LEGO® City Soft Play: Coming this spring, new and improved mazes and climbing areas.
  • The Center’s Café has also been updated to feature free WiFi, among other new amenities, providing families with a comfortable space to refuel before their next LEGO adventure.

Rather than me describing everything, here are pictures from our visit.

I highly recommend heading there especially if you have a Star Wars fan.  My boys (5 and 7) just recently got into Star Wars and they were absolutely amazed by the new models.  Now that they have seen the movies they definitely appreciate the displays more than they did the previous Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace display.  It is amazing how much they created and I love that they also renovated the car area (my boy’s favorite) and created a better area for young kids, perfect for my 2 year old!  I will say though it does get busy on weekends, but that doesn’t stop us from popping over there.  We go every week if it was up to my boys!  I honestly don’t mind heading there because they offer free WiFi and it is small enough upstairs (which is where most of the center is) that I can sit right in the middle and see all my kids playing (of course only if it is not super crowded.)
