Disclosure: I received the product below and compensation from ShopSmart in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
I have always been someone who does a lot of research before I buy something. I love reading reviews, sharing my opinion and staying up to date with new products coming out. I also love magazines, yes actual paper magazines that come out each month. Well Consumer Reports has come out with a quick and easy guide that comes in the form of a monthly magazine. ShopSmart Magazine is a traditional magazine that offers practical ways to save money, get the most for your money and provides honest shopping advice. The magazine also features of course news on hot new products and services ranging from appliances and cars to cell phones and clothing. ShopSmart is designed to help consumers spend less without sacrificing quality.
This magazine seriously has it all. I have seen review-type magazines before, but never have I seen one that literally features products from so many different categories. It is a magazine for men and women and I dare you not to find something interesting in it or benefit from it. A subscription to ShopSmart would make an awesome Mother’s Day gift (its like the gift that keeps on giving) or a gift to a new homeowner or for yourself for some new ideas and ways to save! It’s not though just deals and bargains, its reviews and comparisons of tons of products. I read up on some new products coming out that I hadn’t even heard of, I found products that I should skip buying and apps to check out to save. Even my husband enjoyed reading this magazine, so yes it is something men will enjoy as well. I actually took notes from this magazine on products I wanted to look up and apps I wanted to download. It is amazing how much is packed into this magazine. Now of course everyone has their own opinions and experiences, but it is nice to see results from tested products showing both the pros and cons of the products.
Not sure if you can trust ShopSmart? They state their promise right in the magazine that they “Will Always Tell You The Truth.” They are a nonprofit organization and don’t take ads or free samples. Since they are part of the Consumer Reports family, they spend their own millions of dollars a year to buy products so they can test in them in one of their 50 labs and auto test track. They even fight for laws to protect consumers from dangerous products and unfair sales practices. They want consumers to make the best choice every time, no matter if their spending a few dollars or a thousands of dollars.
