Soda Stream Source Maker {Review}

Almost five years ago now I first heard of and tried a Soda Stream maker, and ever since we were hooked.  There are so many amazing features of Soda Stream that I love and they are constantly improving their products.

Since Soda Stream maker don’t use electricity, yes no plug, they are pretty hard to break, so yes my Soda Stream maker from five years ago still works.  I will say though I am loving the Source Soda Stream Maker I recently got.  From its sleek design to its LED display, I love it.

Source soda maker is an elegantly-designed machine that combines ease of use, modern design and functionality in one small machine.  Everything you need to get started is included in the kit, which is really awesome! I love that I don’t have to buy anything else right away and with the six flavor Sodamix Taste Sampler  you get to figure out what your family likes!

• 1 Reusable 1L BPA-free carbonating bottle with fizz-preserving cap
• 1 60L* CO2 carbonator (makes up to 60 liters)
• Sodamix Taste Sampler (6 flavors)

Uses the Source soda maker is super easy even my 7 year old can do it, with my supervision of course since its using a CO2 carbonator.  To use it all you have to do is fill the plastic bottle with water, yes plain water, place in the Source and push a button.  By pushing the button you get to choose how much carbonation is added, which is great for those that prefer more flat soda or more bubbly soda.  I like bubbles and love that I can control the carbonation.  After the few seconds of pushing the button to carbonate, remove the bottle and add in your flavor syrup.

Flavors is what makes the Soda Maker amazing though, especially for families.  In my house, I like Diet soda, my husband Root Beer, and my kids Lemon Lime soda and Kool-Aid.  Stocking 2-liters for my family would really add up in both costs and space, not to mention that we wouldn’t all necessarily each finish a 2-liter before it went flat.  With the Source we can all make our own flavors in just 1-liter bottles (we would just buy additional bottles since it only comes with one bottle.)

I seriously don’t have anything I dislike about the Source or Soda Stream.  Its easy to use, requires no electricity, and there are so many flavor options available there is one for everyone!  At just around $100, the Source will more than pay for itself.  The flavors cost between $5-$7 and each flavor makes 12 liters of soda!

The CO2 carbonator is about $15 and honestly they seem to last forever!  It depends on how fizzy you make your soda with how fast it goes through but really its a lot of uses.  You then can exchange the CO2 carbonator at a local store in your area, there are lots of choices.

Soda Stream is not just for soda drinkers either, there are so many flavors available like I mentioned that anyone is happy.  They also make a great gift for anyone and it is a gift that will keep on giving!  My cousin actually had one on his wedding registry recently and my aunt ending up buying it for him and one for herself.  You won’t be disappointed with a Soda Stream soda maker and friends and family will love making their own soda whenever they want it!  Yeah that is the other bonus about owning a Soda Stream maker, you can always have soda on hand.  For example, when my son was sick the other day I was able to whip him up some Ginger Ale in seconds which is no way I would have had a 2-liter on hand.
