Cannot Explain But Must See Blue Man Group (Chicago, IL) {Review}

Blue Man Group is a show that is one I think everyone should try to see at least once. I have actually seen the show about five times now and I have yet to get sick of it. The show is so hard to describe other than to say its a performance that will surprise you, amaze you, make you smile and is sure to please anyone. I know some may think its an artsy show that isn’t for everyone, but really it is a show for everyone.

The show runs about 90 minutes with no intermission and the whole show is non-stop entertainment from three guys painted in blue. The show is updated as well so even if you have seen it in the past it may be a new show now. The new show features a giant “iPhone” and the last time I saw the show iPhones didn’t even exsist! I thought it might be a little cheesy with the phone but it was fun and so cute how they incorporated it.

I don’t want to give too much away from the show but yes people from the audience do get picked, the show really only features the three blue man (and there is a live band as well) and the show feautres tons of different “acts.” We too my in-laws and they had a blast. There is parking right next to the Briar Street theatre for $14 but they do pack the cars in like sardines so you cannot keep it there past the show. I recommend getting there early because the lobby is a piece of art in itself to check out and if your late you may have to wait to enter (which you’ll then be spotlighted on during the show.)

Overall, I love the show and if I could afford to I would go see the show as much as time allowed me. It is a great place for a date or just something special. Yes it can be costly to see the show but its worth it and is something you’ll remember! Oh and the show is appropriate for kids and there is no violence or dirty jokes. There actually is not any talking in the show, its all forms of expressions and music.
