My youngest son, Gavin, has nut and egg allergies and it does make it challenging to go out to it. We usually stick to the same restaurants and foods that we are comfortable with and it surprises me all the time how restaurants are either accommodating or oblivious to allergens. The first thing I do before we go to a new restaurant is check the company’s website, sometimes it seems like company’s hide the ingrediants and allergens. I don’t want to search for allergens and nor should I have too! Well Red Robin wants everyone to not only be able to access their Allergen Menu from their computer but also their smartphone and via a restaurant-provided tablet. Yes the Red Robin location will provide you with a tablet to view their Interactive Allergen Menu!
So off to Red Robin we went and my son was thrilled that they had a lot on their menu for him. It had been a long time since we’d been there with him. It was a spur of the moment trip for us and I figured I’d check the website on my phone for allergens since I had read about convenient it was to view. Well of course my phone was acting up so I was worried I’d have trouble figuring out what was safe as unfortunately staff at restaurants can sometimes be clueless as to allergens.
We were seated by the manager since they were a little busy and I immediately asked about allergens to get the ball rolling, we’ve had other restaurants have to go in the back and dig for the allergen report or go online and print them out for us. The manager said he’d be right back and literally he was right back with a tablet! The tablet had the website loaded and all I had to do was click which allergens we needed to beware of and out popped a list of safe foods!
Here are some screenshots from the website so you can see how truly easy it is to customize:

How was our dinner? Awesome! The food was delicious and everyone had a great time. From the helpful associates to the affordable prices to the free balloons for kids, everything was great. My kids have been asking when we are going back and honestly there are so many awesome choices available that I don’t mind at all!
