Why Rug Cleaning is Important

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post.

Any good housekeeper knows that simply vacuuming a rug and scrubbing away spills isn’t enough to keep it clean. A vacuum cleaner may be good at getting surface-level dirt off of a carpet so that it looks presentable, but what about the dirt and grime that settles into a rug? That’s where the real problem lies, and that’s why a professional rug cleaning is in order from time to time.

Having a rug or carpet cleaned by professionals isn’t just about taking care of staining and discoloration, although that is certainly part of it. Dirt, allergens and potentially dangerous chemicals are tracked across rugs all the time, even in smaller households. Things can get even worse in homes with children or pets. Before long, even a rug that gets vacuumed regularly will be the kind of mess that only a professional can clean. Rugs and carpets should be cleaned once a year to remove stains, odors and allergens. Rugs in larger households with pets, children or people who smoke should be cleaned every six to nine months.

Green Cleaning

As important as regular carpet cleaning can be, some people are wary of the harsh chemicals used in traditional cleaning methods. Fortunately, many professional cleaning companies have taken steps to ensure that only natural, organic and green cleaning detergents are being used. Cleaning professionals everywhere are becoming more aware of the effect they have on the environment, and they have taken steps to decrease the size of their carbon footprints while ensuring the safety of their clients. Not only do these new cleaning methods remove dirt and odors as easily as traditional carpet cleaning methods, but they drastically cut down on the number of allergens, chemicals and toxins that are released into the air during a typical cleaning session.

As useful as vacuums and stain removers are at keeping a rug looking presentable, they are not substitute for professional cleaning services. No matter how large or small your home may be, there is no denying that your rugs and carpets can benefit from a regular cleaning using safe, environmentally-friendly products.
