Basement Must Have Item – NewAir AB-850 84-Can Beverage Refrigerator {Review}

I received the product below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Last year we remodeled our basement into a home theatre and game area and next up is building a bar for my husband.  He has this huge bar in his head that he wants but since we still have small kids that like to run around in the basement and there’s the whole money thing of course, we have put the bar on hold for the moment.  So what’s the next best thing to a bar?  How about a personal beverage refrigerator!  Yes I am talking about mini-fridges but not any ordinary mini- fridge, I am talking about one that is sleek in design but cold enough for beer.

My husband has a requirement that his beer be chilled at 34 degrees and he ultimately wants to put the the fridge in his bar whether it go down below or mounted in the wall, we will cross that bridge when it comes.  Now I have owned mini fridges before but they don’t seem to get that cold and they usually have a boring white, brown or black cover.  They are also usually smaller in size and have a freezer that we don’t need.  When I saw the Newair AB-850 84-Can Stainless Steel Beverage Cooler from the Air & Water website, I knew it was going to be perfect!

So what makes the NewAir AB-850 84-Can Beverage Refrigerator so awesome?

  • First off, it holds 84 standard cans of beer or soda – or adjust to hold 50 beer bottles which is what we did
  • Adjustable thermostat with 7 settings and cooling range of 34 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Three slide out adjustable chrome racks for easy access
  • Interior LED light to see what your grabbing which can be turned on and off
  • Black on the sides, stainless steel trim and a glass front – so modern and fun looking
  • Quiet, I barely notice the fridge when I am sitting right next to it.

The fridge has become our end table, I put a tablecloth on the top for the time being but I actually think it looks nice on its own:

Cool light inside you can turn on and off with the push of a button:

Steel wire shelves:

The shelves are adjustable as you can see the notches inside the fridge for where you can set the shelves:

So as you can see from above, we use this fridge as an end table in our basement for mainly bottles of beer and water.  My husband took out one of the shelves to fit them better and total you can fit about 50 beer bottles (as opposed to 84 cans.)  You can, of course, mix it up as the shelves are adjustable which is nice.  I love the overall design of it, obviously since I allowed it to be used as an end table.  I’d recommend this beverage fridge for any household looking for a sleek compact refrigerator.
