Can Febreze Really Mask Popcorn Smell? #noseblind

Don’t get me wrong, I love popcorn but I hate the smell that lingers after popcorn.  I actually stopped making microwave popcorn for awhile because the smell was so bad but then again it is super convenient to have on hand for when my kids want some.  My mom’s house though is the worst when she makes popcorn for my kids.  I don’t know if its the brand she uses or the seasoning or just the other smells in her house combined but her house smells terrible after popping popcorn.  Well this past weekend my family headed over for there to visit and swim and of course relax.  Usually after swimming we all take a break in their family room with some popcorn and watch a movie to wind the kids down.

So just as usual my mom threw in a bag of popcorn and handed some out to everyone.  Immediately that popcorn smell filled the house and for me I also smelled cigarette smoke and dog.  It’s funny how we all smell something different.  My mom smelled the popcorn but the other smells didn’t even phase her, my dad only smelled my daughter’s diaper, my brother said the dog smelled.  Well did you know there is such as thing as being noseblind?

Now I can be honest at my mom’s and say that it smells funky, but my husband for example will keep his mouth shut over how overpowering one smell was over another.  Well thanks to Febreze, my mom’s house smelled clean and fresh again.  What is great about Febreze is it doesn’t just mask the smell but rather it eliminates it.  What do I mean by mask?  You know how sometimes you try to cover up a bad smell with another smell and you get a worse smell or the smell only goes away temporarily?  Well by using Febreze you won’t have that problem!  With just a few quick sprays of Febreze Air Effects and Febreze Fabric Refresher, the smells were gone and in its place was a pleasant fresh smell.  The popcorn, cigarette, dog smells never came back and we were all able to finish our visit without those funky smells.

It’s funny how we all become noseblind to scents we are used to but then don’t realize how overpowering they can be to others.  In my house I honestly throw my daughter’s dirty diapers in the kitchen garbage sometimes and I don’t even smell them, but when my mom comes over she immediately comments on the diaper smell.  Everywhere we go there are good smells and bad smells and I love that with Febreze it makes it easy (and tolerable) to go places.  I now spray whenever I throw a diaper in the garbage or cook something like popcorn that leaves a lingering smell and I know my mom was super impressed with the Febreze power.  Its a small price to pay for a fresh house and to avoid the embarrassment of lingering odors.
