First off saying “Dental Appliance” sounds so strange but really what else do you call a retainer, mouthguard and removeable braces? Yep Dental Appliance makes sense now, doesn’t it? So what is the point? Well if you have ever used a dental appliance you may have struggled to keep it clean feeling, smelling and looking. I know for me I use a mouthguard because I grind my teeth (I think I dream that I am a pirate often “Argghhhhhh!”) and I have struggled to maintain it. I have rinsed it with water and even brushed it with a toothbrush and toothpaste. I thought about getting denture cleaner for it but I wasn’t sure if it would damage my mouthguard. I also read that denture cleaners do not kill bacteria and can cause discoloration. So what is a girl to do?

Well in comes Fresh Guard™ by Efferdent. Fresh Guard™ is a specially formulated treatment for specifically retainers, mouthguards and removable braces. It ensures a Complete Clean on your dental appliance.

How does it ensure a Complete Clean you may be wondering?

  • It prevents the build-up of mouth film for a clean feel
  • It removes odor-causing bacteria for a fresh clean and smell
  • It reduces yellowing and helps remove stains for a clean look

There are two ways to use Fresh Guard™ – Fresh Guard™ by Efferdent Soak and Fresh Guard™ by Efferdent Wipes. Both products are great and perfect for different situations. At home I use the Soak and when I am overnight somewhere I use the Wipes. Now I will say the first time I used the Fresh Guard™ by Efferdent Soak I was skeptical how clean it could really get my mouthguard, but it worked amazingly.

Here is a picture of my gross mouthguard, I admit I haven’t used it lately because it was gross:

Fresh Guard™ by Efferdent Soak comes in little individual tubes you just pour into water:

Here is the Fresh Guard™ by Efferdent Soak working its magic:

You can tell when its been about five minutes because the water will start to clear up:

And all clean:

Upon wearing my mouthguard I didn’t notice any taste or smell and it looked brand new! Yeah for a simple to use but effective product! Being able to clean my mouthguard effectively is going to save me a lot of money in the long run because I will actually want to use my mouthguard, rather than not use it.
