My family and I have been going on lots of adventures this summer from water parks to theme parks to the zoo to just walking to the park. I have become quite the snack packer for our little trips as eating out at all of them can add up fast. We often just need a snack rather than a big meal, so why waste all that money when we’re not even going to eat it!

Last week we headed to our local zoo, with a friend and her kids. It was two adults and eight kids! I packed our snacks and we set off.
We spent just a few hours at the zoo before it got too hot that we decided to leave, but we did have a great time. The kids all got to see the animals they each wanted to see and enjoyed snack time on some picnic tables.
This is probably coolest sight we have ever seen at the zoo before, too bad the picture is not the greatest. Yep that is a lion right there by the glass!
The Frito-Lay snack bags were a hit with everyone, and it turned out the other mom brought some too! They seriously are a super versatile snack to bring along places. An apple, a snack bag and some juice or water made a great snack for all of us.
I wanted a soda but the Pepsi stand by us was closed.
My boys were bumeed we forgot our Fire Bone Hot Dog Skylander® figure in the car as they wanted “him” to see the zoo with us. They have become quite attached to him! Yes that is him in a seat belt in my car as my son didn’t think the dashboard was safe enough.

That's so nice that you guys got to go to a zoo and make the most of a beautiful day! Sounds like you had quite a group, too :) I agree that packing snacks is a lot easier and cheaper than buying food every time you go somewhere!
all kids love the zoo!! I have 10 grandchildren and all of them that are old enough to enjoy it beg to go all the time.. you have some great pictures too!!
