Today, there are 21.2 million U.S. veterans and 1.5 million of them have a vision-threatening eye disease. Many of those veterans have low vision, with 160,000 of them being legally blind. Due to their time in combat, veterans may be at an increased risk for an eye injury.
VSP Vision Care is the nation’s largest not-for-profit vision benefits and services provider. With more than 66 million members, or 1 in 5 Americans, VSP is a company that is trusted by many for their eye care and eyewear needs. VSP is committed towards members’ wellness and they strive to go above and beyond for customer service. They are also a company that wants to help out veterans.
VSP Vision Care has created “Vision to Share” to change the life of a veteran through America’s VetDogs. VSP will donate up to $50,000 to train and match a guide dog with a veteran whose vision is impaired. America’s VetDogs, a not-for-profit organization, provides a highly trained guide dog to help veterans lead active and independent lives. The dogs are raised and trained and then given to the veteran t no cost. The VetDogs even goes as far as matching each dog’s skills and personality to the disabled veteran’s needs. The dogs typically work with the veterans from ages 2 to 10 years old and then the retired dogs are adopted.
For each video shared from a “Vision to Share” on SeeMuchMore.com, VSP will donate $5 towards a vet’s dog up to $50,000!
It’s that easy! Just check out the “Vision to Share” video and from there you can share the video via email, Twitter, or Facebook.
