Hot New Books in September From Parragon Books {Reviews} @ParragonBooks

So for a few months now I have received some hot new books from Parragon Books and they have been a hit with my kids.  I received some picture books for my youngest and some fun activity books for my boys!

So what books did I get for September?

Bunny Loves to Learn

This is a picture book all about a bunny who wants to learn everything.  The bunny is very curious and when he learns he can wear a costume, he decides to really research the topic before choosing a costume.  He learns from books, his teacher and the computer.  I like the subtle facts in the story that are easy for kids to understand and add value to the book.  It is super cute to see all the animals dress up and it hopefully is encouraging my own children to be curious and see how much fun learning can be!

Spot A Lot! Animal Escape

$8.99 – Hardcover

Theres trouble at the zoo today The animals have run away! The animals are everywhere! Look very carefully as you help the zookeeper count and spot all the zoo runaways in this great animal escape. A bright and busy book to keep you searching, spotting, reading and counting together again and again!

This book not only encourages kids to count but it also has things in it for kids to find.  The pages say things like “Where is the ladybug?” or “Find 1 green bird.”  The illustrations are very colorful and inviting for kids and the story is educational as each page says something like “3 orange gazelles jumping high -….”  This is a great picture book for kids that gets them thinking.  You could even add your own activities to this book and say something like “How many white bunnies are there?”  The book has lots of opportunities for parents and kids.

Professor Murphy’s Magic Show

This is a great magic kit for kids who are just getting interested in magic but its affordable enough you are not sinking money into something they may not really like.  It is a gift set that includes everything you need pretty much for the magic tricks as well as a book filled with how to do the tricks!  I’d say this would be good for ages 6 and up.  It is a great set for kids to practice on their own and encourages them to perform (self-confidence boost?) and learn something.  Magic is definitely a great conversation starter for them to know!  The box is sturdy cardboard so when they are done they can even store everything in the box!

Professor Murphy’s Harmonica Set

This is a great set for any child who is interested in the harmonic but you don’t want to invest a lot.  It includes everything they will need right down to the box and cloth to take care of the harmonica!  The book is easy to follow and has songs of various levels so your child can practice and move up.  I’d say it would be great for ages 6 and up.  Very cute and affordable!
