I Sea 10!™ Game {Review}

My kids love playing board games and would love to play board games over doing their homework. They do though need to practice and so I’m stuck finding creative ways to engage them. The game I Sea 10! from Learning Resources is a great game for kids learning addition.

I Sea 10!™ Game

Reel in addition skills by catching combinations of 10! Players take turns flipping cards to show numbers and shout out “I see 10!” when they see combinations of numbers that together make 10. Collect the most 10s and win! Beware of the hungry Shark cards—pull one and your whole catch goes back!

Includes 100 cards (90 number cards and 10 Shark cards)

Grades: 1+

When I first saw this game I thought it might be too easy or babyish for my 6 and 7 year old. They are in 1st and 2nd grade and way past adding to 10. They both though got really into this game and enjoyed it. The game is so simple and yes its a math game, but its also a fun and fast game. To play you just have to flip over cards until you see numbers that add up to 10 – they you collect those cards as your points. No reading is required, just math of adding to 10. It is good practice for kids just learning or just a great way to exercise your brain! My 7 year old didn’t want to stop playing and was slowly getting faster and faster at recognizing the sum of 10. You can also change up the game too for example to find the sum of another number or even come up with other rules for multiplication/division and so forth. The pieces are sturdy cardboard and the box is sturdy as well, perfect for storage.

The recordable answer buzzers. She loved the "Easy" button that I got her and she would push it and it would say, "that was easy". I know she would be pushing them all the time.
