Plants Vs. Zombies™ K’NEX-Style {Review} #knex

Disclosure: I was sent this product to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

My 6 year old loves the game Plants Vs. Zombies™ but honestly I haven’t seen any products available outside the game.  Well leave it to K’NEX to fill that void.  K’NEX has a whole line of products featuring the silly characters from Plants Vs. Zombies™. Oh and in case you never heard of the game Plants Vs. Zombies™, it is not a bloody shooting game, but rather its more like a puzzle game.

I got the chance to check out two of the Plants Vs. Zombies™ sets and they were a hit in our house.

K’NEX Plants Vs. Zombies™ Cone Mech Building Set

Defeat the zombies and save your brains…with motorized the ConeMech Building Set from the Far Future level! This set includes 1 zombie figure plus a buildable ConeMech that walks with motorized action, just like in the game! Battery-powered motor included plus easy to follow building instructions. For ages 7+. Batteries not included.

Features:

  • Buildable Conehead Mech
  • Includes 1 Future Zombie figure
  • Battery-powered motor included (Batteries not included)
  • Walking action just like in the game
  • Easy-to-follow building instructions
  • Ages 7+

Building the Conehead Mech was pretty easy with its only 114 pieces.  It comes with one zombie figure which my kids actually loved and then to their surprise it moves!  It comes with a little hand remote that is wired, not wireless, to make it move.  It is a super affordable set for beginner builders who want something to move.  I have seen other moveable sets that are way more expensive, which is why I say this is a good starter set. I do want to add too that unfortunately our set was missing four small pieces, but my husband was able to make it work without them.

K’NEX Plants Vs. Zombies™ Football Mech Building Set

Defeat the zombies, save your brains…with the Football Mech Building Set from the Far Future level! This set includes 1 zombie figure plus a buildable Football Mech that walks with motorized action, just like in the game! Battery-powered motor included plus easy to follow building instructions. For ages 7+. Batteries not included.

Features:

  • Buildable Football Mech
  • Includes 1 future zombie figure
  • Battery-powered motor included (Batteries not included)
  • Walking action just like in the game
  • Easy-to-follow building instructions
  • Ages 7+

This is an easy to build set with only 93 pieces.  My husband actually had this built pretty quick and my kids were off playing with it.  It comes with a little wired controlled to make it move that does require batteries.  Not sure whats with the whole football helmet thing but its silly so of course my kids like it.  You also get a little zombie figure with it.  I’d say for the low price of $17, it is a good starter set for kids who want to build something and watch it move.
