Getting Your Own Star Named After You

Nowadays it can be hard to find gifts that are both unique and timeless, but the International Star Registry is both of those.  How cool would it be to have a star names after you?  Well after checking out the International Star Registry Chart Kit I will say it is pretty cool to name a star named after me.  Somewhere out there in the galaxy there is a star with my last name.  Oh and I even got to choose a special date for it. It is a gift that will last basically forever and then some!

The International Star Registry has been naming stars for everyday individuals, celebrties and even dignitaries since 1979.

All the star kits come with a professionally written astronomy booklet, sky chart and a letter of congratulation.  Most importantly though all the star kits come with a certificate featuring the name of the star, the date it was named and the coordinates where you can find it in the sky.  Yep you get the coordinates so if you have a telescope you can navigate to where your star is.

I received the International Star Registry Custom Star Kit with the new Photographic Sky Chart, custom framed in our 16” X 20” Black frame.  It is pretty awesome looking.  My kids were amazed that we now have a star named after us.  It really sparked something in them to want to know more about stars and astronomy.

There are different kits you can buy in different price ranges and you can buy them framed or unframed. So no matter your budget or how fancy you want to get, there is Star Kit available.  Your star will also live on as it will be published in a star catalog printed periodically called Your Place in the Cosmos which lists the stars named.  The book is listed with the US Copyright Office and a copy of the book is stored in a vault in Switzerland and no star is named twice.
