VTech® Switch & Go Dinos® Turbo Bronco the RC Triceratops™ {Review}

Disclosure:  I received the product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

Ever since my boys got their first VTech® Switch & Go Dino® they were hooked.  Something about a robotic dinosaur just amazed them.  I love how VTech has come out with products that appeal to older kids, not just toddlers and preschoolers, as well as ones that boys would appeal to.  As a mom of two boys it is hard to find toys sometimes that they will engage them.  There seems to be so many “girly” toys out there, which don’t get me wrong the VTech® Switch & Go Dinos® are not just for boys!  They are a toy that any child who loves dinosaurs would enjoy, I just like its a neutral toy.

Well VTech has come out with different varieties of their VTech® Switch & Go Dinos®, from different sizes to different dinosaurs.  Now they have launched their VTech® Switch & Go Dinos® as remote controlled dinosaurs!

I got the chance to check out the VTech® Switch & Go Dinos® Turbo Bronco the RC Triceratops™ and he is amazing!  Seriously my kids had a blast with him and I admit I had my share of zooming him around!

What makes VTech® Switch & Go Dinos® Turbo Bronco the RC Triceratops™ so cool:

  • First he is a Switch & Go Dino which means with a push of a button he can switch from a Triceratops to a sleek race car.  It is a smooth transition and we had no problems with it.
  • He has a Turbo Boost feature which you push a button to make him go “turbo” speed.  Okay its not super fast but fast enough to surprise you!
  • He has an LCD screen that displays cool customizable dinosaur eyes and driver animations.  My 3 year old cracks up at this, especially when the eyes pop up.
  • Control him with a remote control that is very easy to use
  • He has headlights that turn on!
  • He has tons of sounds effects and phrases, including dinosaur facts
  • He moves forward, backward, left and right as both a dinosaur and car

I think the VTech® Switch & Go Dinos® Turbo Bronco the RC Triceratops™ is my favorite Switch & Go dino so far.  I love how he really can zoom around and transfer from a car to dinosaur and back.  The Turbo charge is pretty neat, something that surprised us.  The remote control is awesome and easy enough for kids to use.  There really is nothing I don’t like about him, other than he uses eight AA batteries.  I am hoping they last awhile because my kids really do love to play with him and I’d hate to have to keep replacing all those batteries.  I will admit too I didn’t have too high of expectations of him as an actual remote control car but he has really surprised me with how fast and smooth he can go.  VTech definitely did it right with this car and I can see it appealing to kids through 8 years old as suggested.  My oldest is 7 and he doesn’t think it is babyish at all and my 3 year old loves him as well, although she is not the best driver!  He would make an awesome present for any child ages 3-8 years old.

Here is a quick video, it’s not the greatest but it shows off how he drives:
