TIPS TO GET HEALTHY IN THE NEW YEAR
Losing weight and staying fit and healthy are among the top 5 New Year’s resolutions. While a pledge to improve health is easy to start, the odds of sustaining for an entire year are slim. In fact, research suggests that only 8% of Americans successfully achieve their New Year’s resolutions.
According to a new nutrition survey from Prevention, nearly half of Americans (48%) are concerned they may not be getting enough of one or more key nutrients from their current diet. So why are we neglecting key vitamins and minerals that we need? CBS News Medical and Health Contributor, Dr. Holly Phillips and award-winning registered dietitian and nutritionist, Elisa Zied, MS, RDN, CDN will help your viewers with easy solutions to fill the gaps in one’s diet and finally check off those health-related New Year’s goals.
To better understand why these dietary gaps exist, Prevention’s national survey found that while Americans need to change the way they get key nutrients, surprisingly almost three in four are not willing to change their diets. In the video, Dr. Phillips and Elisa Zied discuss the following:
