Choo Chooing Along With Snoopy Railroad G-Gauge Set from Lionel Trains {Review}

My 7-year-old has been fascinated with trains ever since he played with his first wooden train.  I’ll never forget how excited he was when he got his first real train set. Just recently though I packed away my boys’ wooden train sets as they no longer play with them anymore.  I held out as long as I could but with Christmas coming I had to make room for new toys.  I admit though I couldn’t part with them so I packed them away to save my future grandchildren I guess.

Both my boys though do still love trains, they just are interested more in electric trains and basically non-wooden trains.  We never got the chance to pick up a real train set for them until recently when I received a Lionel Trains set to check out.  I was thrilled because Lionel Trains is a company that I know features amazing quality trains.  Lionel Trains is a brand my dad had as a kid and has raved about and now my own kids have their chance to experience Lionel.

I received the Snoopy Railroad G-Gauge Set to check out and it has been a toy my boys have played with daily.

Like I said, my kids have been zooming this train around daily.  As soon as someone comes over they are super excited to show them their new train set.  I think the best feature is the working headlight of course next to it being able to work via remote control.

Overall, my kids are happy with their new Lionel Trains set.  I will say though it is plastic and while it is pretty sturdy, it is also plastic.  By that I mean the track snaps together and you really need to push it together to keep it so it stays. We also have had the train come off the track a few times but overall I think its a great starter set for kids to enjoy year round.  I think the problem was partly my kids being young and not taking their time with the set but also that the set requires some patience snapping together.  We had this set around our Christmas tree but since we then it has become a train set in our basement my boys play with when the mood strikes.  The box though it comes in can be re-used for storage.
