I’m not sure how many years now it has been but I have been using TurboTax since I first started doing my own taxes. From when I was single in college to married with kids and a house, Turbo Tax has evolved with me.
This year I actually ended up with a lot more forms to work with and I even had a tax professional look over my results and she said I did everything right! I was worried I missed out on some deductions but she said it was all in TurboTax correctly. I will admit I felt pretty awesome with her saying that. TurboTax really does prompt you for everything so you really can’t mess up your taxes. “Did you get married?” “Do you own a house?” “Do you have investments?” and so forth.
I have used both TurboTax from a CD and the online version. This year TurboTax online has a few new features included and that is the version I ended up using.
More Personalized Experience– TurboTax 2014 offers a refreshed, modern user interface that makes it easier for users to understand and navigate through your return. From the start, colorful tiles and friendlier language helps ease taxpayers through their taxes.
Simplified health care reporting –Another way TurboTax takes the complex and makes it simple for taxpayers is with health care reporting.
Mobile Experience – New TurboTax mobile app, which now offers the full lineup of tax preparation products, is available for both iPhone and Android phones and iPad and Android tablets. Users can start, stop and continue their taxes on any device – within the app or online.
Those are just some of the new features and really I am sure I haven’t even scratched the surface of whats available working on my own taxes this year.
I have told countless friends and family members about how easy and conveinent TurboTax is and I really do mean that. You can have TurboTax guide you with questions or just work on everything you’d like by just clicking on the topic. I like to have it guide me so I don’t miss anything.

It does the math nicely. Instructions on short term gains in 2013 could have been better. I know very little about this, but seems very strange that a loss ends up becoming a gain... small amount but still. their fee for state tax submission is ridiculous. I print mine and mail it in.
Would be nice to do my own taxes. Can save money that way.
It guides you thru the process of making out the forms.
I like that you can do your own taxes and I like that it saves you from having to pay someone to do it for you.
I like how easy it is to use, and that it shows how your refund changes as you progress through the forms!
