Debt is something that I feel is ongoing. Everytime I’d pay something off, another expense would pop up. While you can’t control expenses like an appliance breaking or needing a new car, you can save up for them. Finally my husband and I have started a savings account that we regularly contribute to and we have even started accounts for our kids. Debt though was something that we really struggled with. I remember feeling like there was no end in sight. I have friends and family who are buried in debt and feel the same way. I remember thinking how can we create a savings account if we can’t even pay off the bills we have.
Well Liberty Bank for Savings is a company that is more than just a bank. They want consumers to know how to manage the money they have and reduce their debt. Last month I shared about a webinar on Wiping Student Loan Debt that Liberty Bank hosted along with Laura La Belle, a certified financial planner and money coach. This month Laura is back with Liberty Bank this time the webinar is called Be Debt Free…Forever. It is designed to be a blueprint for people who want to begin a road to a debt-free future. The webinar will be touch on an easy three-step system to eliminate debts, open family communications about finances, and free up more money every month. The system works for those who have a few debts as well as those who have a lot of debt.
The latest statistics from the Federal Reserve indicate consumer debt in the United States continues to increase, reaching nearly $3.2 trillion in July 2014. According to statistics published by the Census Bureau, that works out to more than $10,200 in debt for every man, woman and child that lives here in the United States. The $10,200 per person doesn’t include debt associated with mortgages either.
Liberty Bank for Savings dates back to 1898 when members of Chicago’s Bucktown church came together in the spirit of “neighbors helping neighbors” to provide each other with home loans. So for 117 years now Liberty Bank has been serving consumers and transforming the world of banking. Like their “Pay Yourself First” program which offers a free, easy-to-use automatic savings tool to help neighbors achieve financial goals. Another way is their free financial webinars, yes they are offered as free!
Liberty Bank for Savings is sponsoring a free webinar designed to help people reduce consumer debt on Wednesday, May 20, at 7 p.m. To register, visit www.libertybank.com.

Managing money is one of the most important thing for young folks to learn about. These things are not taught in school and are not intuitive so good program.
Make a list of everything you owe, including the interest rate and payment amount. Check if you can get a loan covering your entire debt at a lower interest rate. If you can get one, you will effectively reduce your loan burden with a single action. Also, your multiple debts will become one, which will further boost your credit worthiness.
People can easily get over their heads in debt quickly. Sounds like a good seminar!
