A few weeks ago my kids and I headed to Medieval Times for a fun and exciting dinner. We have been there many times before but this time we brought my close friend and her kids. So there was two adults and seven kids, crazy but a night to remember! They had never been there and my kids were so excited to show their friends the ropes of how Medieval Times works.
Once you arrive at Medieval Times you are given a knight that you will be cheering for. You then seat in that knight’s section but don’t worry there is not a bad seat in the house! The show takes place down center in a large oval sand pit.
Before you sit down though don’t miss heading to the back right of the castle where they have some horses on display.
The show starts out with introductions of the knights and the royalty. Then comes out the horses which perform various acts. They are seriously beautiful!
Next up was the bird man. Well that is what I call him. The act is a man who can control a bird flying around the inside the castle. Don’t worry the bird doesn’t get that close to the audience as he is high and fast.
While the show is going on, dinner is served. There is a pre-set menu but if you do have allergies you can get a special mean so do mention it to your server. My son has egg and nut allergies and was knowlegable about what was safe.
Being able to enjoy the show while eating is pretty amazing I think. I hate spending a lot of time sitting at restaurants and this is nice to be able to eat while watching the show. No utensils are given so I have learned to bring them with us since my kids think its weird not to use them. All the food is food easily eaten with your hands.
The knights do various challenges to compete and then the winners battle. My kids like the battle part the best as it seems so real and sparks really do fly!
At the end, our knight ending up winning which of course was pretty exciting.
Overall, we had an amazing time as usual. Medieval Times is somewhere we had yet to get tired of and even though the show is the same each time it is still exciting. The whole show is jam packed with action and excitement. Now I will say the show can be pricey for a family, but there are always coupons or specials available so do make sure to look for them. Although if you look at it like a nice three-course dinner plus a live entertainment show, then it is pretty reasonable. If you can’t afford to go just because, it is a great place to visit for a special occasion.
BUY IT: You can purchase tickets for Medieval Times for $61.95 for an adult and $36.95 for children 12 and under. Don’t forget to check for coupons though!
WIN IT: (1) US winner will receive 4 tickets to the Schaumburg, IL Medieval Times Castle

I think I would like eating the tasty food.
I would like the roasted chicken!
I would love to go to Medieval Times for my 15th Anniversary with my Prince Charming and take the kids with us! It would be a fun night to remember a very special event that changed my life forever! The last time I went to MT my husband and I were still dating!
I've never been to Medival times but have always wanted to go, so this would be super exciting!! I'd really love to see all the neat costumes and try the food!! Wouldn't mind shopping a bit, either..
my husband and I are both into knights, queens, kings, castles, anything "medieval" This would be a great "date night" for us!
I've seen the show before, but it's been several years. There's always something new to enjoy.
