Watching TV on the Go From a Free App You May Already Subscribe To! #TVEverywhere

Disclosure:  I received compensation in exchange for sharing this information and my opinion.

Last school year I spent a lot of time in my car waiting. I waited at soccer practice for both boys, I waited at the library while my oldest had tutoring and I waited in the school pick up line. Summer has been just as crazy for me.

I used to DVR everything but then I lost time being able to watch them so I stopped watching so many shows. I admit I miss some of them but I just can’t keep up. We have one DVR in our basement and I don’t get to spend a lot of alone time down there anymore. My husband only watches a handful of the shows I watch so he won’t watch them with me.

Well now with WiFi being everywhere and apps for smartphones and tablets, I love that I can easily keep up with today’s shows wherever I am. TV Everywhere is a viewing experience that is a benefit of current cable TV subscriptions. There is no additional cost, other than having the capable TV cable subscription.

The current cable providers are:

Basically if you have one of the above cable providers, you can download an app from them and watch tv on the go! So TV Everywhere is not an app itself but rather a reminder that “Hey you can watch tv on the go through your cable provider for free!” I bet so many people don’t even realize its free and part of their subscription, its like a hidden gem for subscribers!

I have Comcast Xfinity and I was able to download the Xfinity App for free and log in with my Comcast user name and password. Once logged in I was able to see so many great shows that I could either watch via WiFi or download them to my app to watch later. Downloading is perfect for if you know you won’t have WiFi somewhere or if you are flying for example. You can watch using the data on your phone but it will eat up your data quickly so I don’t recommend that. I recently sat on a plane for three hours just playing around on my tablet and I could have been catching up on some shows! I had checked out TV Everywhere last year and it wasn’t part of my subscription back then but I am so glad I checked again!

Every provider’s app will be different but here are some screenshots of the Xfinity app:

Seriously whether you plan on live streaming or downloading shows for later, I highly recommend checking out TV Everywhere to see if your cable provider is listed. From there you can download the app you need and you’ll be catching up on shows in no time! This is especially great for keeping kids entertained too while out since they can watch their favorite shows as well!

Watch your favorites from TNT, A&E, Travel Channel and may more while you’re on-the-go this summer!
