Disclosure: I partnered with Jiffy Lube in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Even though we are almost through July, that doesn’t mean summer is over. People still have vacations planned with 79% of Americans taking road trips throughout the summer. The top reasons people consider a road trip are destination and budget. Some road-trippers plan out there trips up to six months in advance (66%) while 56% prefer road trips to spontaneous. I am more of a last minute road-tripper as when we have a free weekend we try to take advantage of it! When we do road-trip I usually plan it out on a Monday and we leave on Friday because I do need to plan somewhat since we have three kids and my husband needs to take off work.
We have road tripped multiple times as a family and while it should get easier, it is always a challenge. From planning out where we will stay and what we will do to packing all the essentials, road trips have been my family’s favorite trips. I will say though we have had challenges during our road trips. For example, the three times we drove the 17 hours to Disney World we had a flat tire each time! Now while there is nothing you can do to prevent a flat tire, there are precautions you can take.
Now whenever we head out on the road, I like to get my car checked out. I like my fluids all checked out, my tires filled and checked, my car cleaned and any maintenance I have been putting off. Since I usually don’t have a lot of time, I like when I can drop my car off somewhere I can trust.

I'm so glad you mentioned a gps system. Last Summer I went on vacation with some friends without one and it was so frustrating. Anyway, I always think it's important to make sure the car is tuned-up too. This was a fun info-graphic. :)
