Just Flying Around With Sonic Boom Tails’ Plane

My husband and I have been Sonic the Hedgehog fans since that silly blue hedgehog started zooming through those gold circles. Slowly but surely Sonic has been making a comeback with new games, tv shows and toys.

Well I got the chance to share my love of Sonic the Hedgehog with my kids when I received the Sonic Boom Tails’ Plane to check out.  TOMY is a toy line that is all about bringing characters to life for popular shows and their newest line features the characters from the popular TV series Sonic Boom. According to TOMY, “The toys reinforce key Sonic themes such as speed, skill and action, along with coolness, humor and heroism.”

Some features of the new Sonic Boom Tails’ Plane:

• Trigger-activated propeller
• Flashing headlights
• Dual projectile launchers
• Pitch-changing engine sounds
• Ejector seat (in case Tails needs to bail!)

My 7 year old son was actually super excited to play with this toy. He loves the little figures, you get Tails and can add on Sonic who is sold separately. The plane is a good size for little hands to zoom around and with all the features of lights, sounds and launching pieces, it is a pretty cool plane. My kids play with this plane more than I expected and when they are done I am going to display it in our basement where we have an arcade machine. Its such a cute toy to display and fun toy to play with.

If your child loves Sonic, especially the show Sonic Boom, it would make a perfect gift. It is a little pricey at $30, but it does come with the required batteries and have features that give it that extra touch towards realism. The pieces are pretty durable as well as they are hard plastic. My boys have definitely tested out the durability as they have “crashed” it into quite a few things.
